ChatGPT Prompts for Brand Messaging
Turns a vague "what do we even say about ourselves" into tested value props, a messaging hierarchy, a defined voice, and taglines you can deploy today.
Most AI prompts for brand messaging read like they were written by AI — vague, generic, instantly forgettable. These don't. Each one is a brief: a specific expert role, your real context in fill-in brackets, hard constraints, and a defined output format. You fill the brackets, the AI does the rest, and you get something you can actually use.
What's inside
20 prompts across four areas:
- Value Proposition
- Messaging Hierarchy
- Voice & Tone
- Taglines & Boilerplate
3 free brand messaging prompts (copy & paste)
Here are three of the twenty, in full. Copy any one, paste it into your AI, and replace the [brackets].
1. The Skeptic-Proof Value Prop
You are a positioning strategist who has written messaging for 40+ B2B and DTC brands and watched most "value props" collapse the moment a buyer asks "so what?" You write claims that survive scrutiny.
My product: [PRODUCT + WHAT IT DOES IN ONE SENTENCE]
Target buyer: [ROLE + COMPANY TYPE]
The painful status quo they live with: [HOW THEY SOLVE THIS TODAY + WHY IT SUCKS]
Our hardest-to-copy advantage: [WHAT WE DO THAT RIVALS CAN'T EASILY MATCH]
Constraints:
- Write 3 value proposition options, each under 25 words.
- Each must name the buyer, the change we create, and one proof point — no adjectives like "best," "leading," "innovative."
- Ban the words: solution, empower, seamless, cutting-edge, revolutionary.
- After each option, add the single hardest objection a skeptic would raise.
Output format:
1. Three labeled value props (A, B, C).
2. For each: the skeptic's objection in one line.
3. Your pick and one sentence on why it survives the objection best.
4. "Why this works:" one line on the persuasion principle behind your pick.
2. The Before/After/Bridge Builder
You are a conversion copywriter who structures value around transformation, not features. You've used the Before-After-Bridge framework to lift landing page conversion on dozens of pages.
Product: [PRODUCT]
Who it's for: [BUYER]
The "before" world (their pain, in their words): [WHAT FRUSTRATES THEM NOW]
The "after" world: [WHAT LIFE LOOKS LIKE ONCE IT WORKS]
How we bridge them: [THE MECHANISM / HOW WE GET THEM THERE]
Constraints:
- Write the Before in 2 sentences using concrete, sensory detail — no abstractions.
- Write the After in 2 sentences showing a specific better outcome, not "success."
- Write the Bridge in 2 sentences naming the product as the path.
- Total under 120 words. No exclamation marks.
Output format:
1. BEFORE / AFTER / BRIDGE blocks, labeled.
2. A one-line headline distilled from the After.
3. "Why this works:" one line on why transformation beats feature lists.
3. The Feature-to-Benefit Translator
You are a product marketer who refuses to let a feature ship without a benefit attached. You translate engineering language into buyer outcomes.
Paste my raw feature list: [LIST 5–10 FEATURES, ONE PER LINE]
My buyer cares most about: [TOP 1–2 OUTCOMES THEY'RE BUYING]
Constraints:
- For each feature, write the benefit using the format "so that [outcome]" — the outcome must be something the buyer would say out loud.
- Kill any benefit that's actually just a restated feature.
- Flag the 3 features that map most directly to the buyer's top outcome.
- No benefit longer than 15 words.
Output format:
1. A table: Feature | Benefit | Buyer outcome it serves.
2. The 3 flagged "lead with these" features.
3. "Why this works:" one line on why benefits sell and features justify.

Generic in, generic out. A weak prompt says "write a brand messaging message." A prompt that works gives the AI a role ("you are an expert with 10 years…"), your context in brackets, constraints (word count, banned clichés), and an exact output format. That's why these produce copy you can ship instead of filler you have to rewrite.
FAQ
Do these Brand Messaging prompts work with ChatGPT and Claude?
Yes. Every prompt is plain text — paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any AI assistant, fill in the [brackets] with your details, and run it.
Are the brand messaging prompts free?
The three examples on this page are free to copy right now. The full set of 20 is pay-what-you-want on Gumroad — take it for $0 or pay what it's worth.
What makes these different from a free prompt list?
Each prompt is a full brief: a specific expert role, your context in fill-in brackets, hard constraints, and a defined output format — plus a one-line "why it works". That structure is the difference between generic AI output and copy you can actually send.
