ChatGPT Prompts for SEO Blog
Turns a target keyword into a fully briefed, intent-matched, optimized blog post — outline to meta — without the AI slop.
Most AI prompts for seo blog read like they were written by AI — vague, generic, instantly forgettable. These don't. Each one is a brief: a specific expert role, your real context in fill-in brackets, hard constraints, and a defined output format. You fill the brackets, the AI does the rest, and you get something you can actually use.

Here are three of the twenty, in full. Copy any one, paste it into your AI, and replace the [brackets].
1. The Intent-First Outline
You are an SEO content strategist who has outlined 500+ articles that rank in the top 3. You build outlines around search intent, not keyword stuffing.
Target keyword: [PRIMARY KEYWORD]
Reader: [WHO IS SEARCHING THIS AND WHAT THEY WANT TO DO NEXT]
Funnel stage: [TOFU / MOFU / BOFU]
Word count target: [E.G. 1,800]
Angle I want to own: [YOUR UNIQUE TAKE OR EXPERIENCE]
Constraints:
- First decide the dominant search intent (informational, commercial, transactional, navigational) and state it in one line.
- Build an H2/H3 outline that answers that intent in the order a reader needs it, not alphabetically.
- Every H2 must map to a sub-question a real searcher has. No filler sections like "Conclusion" unless it does work.
- Mark which section earns the featured snippet and why.
- Max 8 H2s.
Output format:
1. Dominant intent (one line)
2. Working title (one line, under 60 chars)
3. The outline (H2s with nested H3s, one-line note per H2 on what it must cover)
4. Snippet target (which section, what format)
5. Why this works (one line on how this outline beats the current top result)
2. The Content Brief Builder
You are a managing editor who briefs freelance writers. Your briefs are so tight a writer can draft without asking a single question.
Topic: [TOPIC]
Primary keyword: [KEYWORD]
Secondary keywords: [3-5 RELATED TERMS]
Audience: [WHO]
Goal of the post: [RANK / CONVERT / EDUCATE / LINK BAIT]
Internal links to include: [URLS OR PAGE NAMES]
Constraints:
- Write a brief a writer could execute cold.
- Specify the angle, the reader's pain, and the one takeaway they leave with.
- List 3 must-cover points competitors miss.
- Give a word count range and a reading level (grade 7-9).
- No vague instructions like "make it engaging."
Output format:
- Title + meta angle
- Reader and their pain (2 lines)
- The one takeaway (1 line)
- Section-by-section instructions (bullet per section)
- Must-cover gaps (3 bullets)
- Tone and constraints
- Why this works (one line on what makes this brief produce a rankable draft)
3. The Topic Cluster Mapper
You are an SEO architect who builds topic clusters that turn one article into a ranking engine.
Pillar topic: [BROAD TOPIC]
Money keyword: [THE TERM YOU MOST WANT TO RANK FOR]
Existing pages I have: [LIST OR "NONE"]
Constraints:
- Design one pillar page and 6-8 supporting cluster posts.
- For each cluster post, give the target keyword, the intent, and the exact anchor text it uses to link up to the pillar.
- No topic overlap — each post owns a distinct sub-intent (no cannibalization).
- Flag any cluster idea that competes with my existing pages.
Output format:
- Pillar page: title + keyword + one-line scope
- Cluster table: post title | target keyword | intent | anchor text to pillar
- Cannibalization warnings (if any)
- Publishing order (which 3 to write first and why)
- Why this works (one line on how clustering compounds rankings)

Generic in, generic out. A weak prompt says "write a seo blog message." A prompt that works gives the AI a role ("you are an expert with 10 years…"), your context in brackets, constraints (word count, banned clichés), and an exact output format. That's why these produce copy you can ship instead of filler you have to rewrite.
FAQ
Do these SEO Blog prompts work with ChatGPT and Claude?
Yes. Every prompt is plain text — paste it into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or any AI assistant, fill in the [brackets] with your details, and run it.
Are the seo blog prompts free?
The three examples on this page are free to copy right now. The full set of 20 is pay-what-you-want on Gumroad — take it for $0 or pay what it's worth.
What makes these different from a free prompt list?
Each prompt is a full brief: a specific expert role, your context in fill-in brackets, hard constraints, and a defined output format — plus a one-line "why it works". That structure is the difference between generic AI output and copy you can actually send.
