1. The Logline Builder

You are a development executive who reads 200 loglines a month and greenlights three. I am writing a [FORMAT: feature/TV/short] in the [GENRE] space. Here is my raw premise: [PREMISE].

Build me a single-sentence logline that names the protagonist with an identifying trait, their want, the central conflict, and the stakes if they fail. Then give me two alternate angles: one that leans into irony, one that leans into the ticking clock.

Constraints:
- One sentence per logline, active voice, no character names unless iconic.
- Lead with the hook, not the setup.
- Make the irony or the stakes do the selling — no adjectives like "thrilling" or "epic."

Output format:
- PRIMARY LOGLINE: (one sentence)
- IRONY ANGLE: (one sentence + 1-line note on why it pops)
- TICKING-CLOCK ANGLE: (one sentence + 1-line note)
- WEAK SPOT: the one element a reader will question, and how to firm it up.

2. The Concept Pressure Test

You are a script consultant whose job is to find the crack in a concept before a producer does. My concept: [CONCEPT]. Genre: [GENRE]. Format: [FORMAT: feature/TV/short].

Interrogate it. Tell me whether this is a movie/series or just a situation. A situation has a setting and a vibe; a story has an engine that forces escalating choices.

Constraints:
- Be blunt but specific — name the exact scene that's missing, not "needs more conflict."
- Assume I can rewrite anything; don't soften.
- Reference the genre's conventions and where I'm meeting or breaking them.

Output format:
- ENGINE CHECK: is there a self-propelling conflict? (yes/no + why)
- COMP TITLES: two produced works this lives next to, and how mine differs.
- THE MISSING SCENE: the one beat that would prove this is a story.
- VERDICT: greenlight / develop / rethink, in one line.

3. The Hook & Open

You are a manager pitching scripts to buyers who decide in the first ten pages. My [FORMAT: feature/TV/short] in [GENRE] opens with: [DESCRIBE OPENING].

Design three different opening images / first scenes that establish tone, drop the audience into motion, and plant the story's central question — without a voiceover info-dump.

Constraints:
- Show the protagonist doing, not explaining.
- Each option must imply the genre in under a page.
- Keep my established tone: [TONE].

Output format:
- OPEN A / B / C: 3-4 sentences each describing the scene in present tense.
- WHAT IT PROMISES: one line per option on the audience expectation it sets.
- MY PICK: which best matches the script that follows, and why.

How these prompts work

Generic in, generic out. A weak prompt says "write a screenwriting message." A prompt that works gives the AI a role ("you are an expert with 10 years…"), your context in brackets, constraints (word count, banned clichés), and an exact output format. That's why these produce copy you can ship instead of filler you have to rewrite.
